Hello Cleanser!! (Part 2)

Next up....

PURE BEAUTY YOUTH RESTORE CLEANSING FOAM

Bought it in Watsons... I was actually quite excited as I read reviews that it does not foam much and it is gentle. To add to that.. It helps with anti-aging.

BUT even if this cleanser does not foam up much, it seems harsh on my skin... My skin broke out after using this for about 2 days. My skin also became really rough to touch. The smell is okay... Nothing much to add on...

VICHY CLEANSING MICELLAR SOLUTION

I like this cleanser. What you see below is the empty bottle.

It cleanses really well with no foam. It is in clear liquid form like water. Not viscous at all. There is no need to use a foaming cleanser to wash it off... Just rinse off after massaging it on the face.

However, this can be used up pretty quickly as I tend to pour out too much to use at times. I will may repurchase this product once I clear out my other cleansers...

VICHY ONE STEP CLEANSER

This is similar to the one above but it is milky in colour and more viscous. I bought this because there is no more stock for the Vichy cleansing micellar solution (the one right above).

This cleanser does not foam up too but it will leave behind a film on the face. The SA told me to wipe it off with cotton wool but rinsing with water is also alright. Although this is a one step cleanser, I still use another cleanser after this to get the filmy feeling off my face...

I believe this will last longer than the one above because it is not as runny and hence there is no tendency to pour too much out... Hee...

Hello Cleanser!! (Part 1)

For my first post after a loooonnngggg long time, I will review 2 of the cleansers that I have used during my long break from blogging about skincare. Cleansing is an important part of skincare routine which will unclog pores. If the pores are clogged, skin problems such as acne will occur. Cleansing will also help your skin to absorb moisturizers or serums better.

HANSKIN O2 CLEANSING OIL BLACK HEAD

First up, it is Hanskin O2 Cleansing Oil Black Head. I was told that I can use this to remove makeup and do not need to use another cleanser to wash it away... I was a bit suprised since I thought cleansing oils are accompanied by another cleanser to wash it off. I have to damp my face then apply by rubbing it in circular motion and lastly leave it for 10 - 15 mins before washing it off.

I like the smell and I followed the routine for about a week. I do not like the feel of my face after washing off because it feels a little oily but I did not have any break outs at all. But I noticed little bumps on my cheeks so I just stopped using it. I have no idea on how well it removes makeup since I do not really use it. I will put on sun block with strong spf of about 35 and above with PA++ at least. Hence the need for a good cleanser.

Later, I used this again but with Hanskin's Namuhana Herb Cleansing Foam (reviewed below) and it is alright for me but after a few days I noticed that my skin is slightly dry. My skin condition is slightly troublesome because of it's sensitivity.... a BIG headache for me...

Therefore, I will only use this when I apply makeup or apply a thick layer of sunscreen (don't do this because it can cause serious clogging of pores) and I will wash it off with another cleanser. I believe people with normal skin type is more suited for this. People with serious oil secretion have to use another cleanser to cleanse this off.

HANSKIN NAMUHANA HERB CLEANSING FOAM

Love this cleansing foam! I know I mentioned that I do not like foaming cleansers but still I like to try some out from time to time... hehe... This time I hit the jackpot!!

I like how this cleanser works for me. It is actually quite runny and milky white in appearance. The smell is refreshing. I have the picture for the product description on the box but the picture refuses to straighten itself!! (Okay. I'm lazy to go rotate it.) Therefore, the blue text below taken from iheartkoreanbeauty.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION: "100 ml. Contains natural soapwort soap substances that cleanse impurities and makeup residue and lemon extracts that gently exfoliate to leave skin healthy and clear."

HOW TO USE: "Use wet hands and create a rich lather. Massage gently over face and rinse with lukewarm water."

A little of it can go a long way. It cleanses well for me without drying out my face (when used alone w/o the cleansing oil mentioned above) and it does not cause the tight squeaky feeling.

Overall, I will buy it again when I finish going through some of my cleansers. Getting crowded in my bathroom... Hee...

Review on cleanser samples

Holika Holika's Speedy 1-step Milk-to-foam is meant for daily wash and at the same time remove make-up in just 1 step. Just a little of it can create lots of foam. That 1 sample packet is enough to last me for about 6 washes or so... It isn't harsh on my skin at all. I thought my cheeks will feel dry or tight after washing... But it didn't!!! I've not tried washing off make-up with it... Don't really dabble much on make-up (only on bb creams)... But I noticed that if I use more it to wash, it can cause my mouth area to feel a little tight. Not sure whether I'm getting it... I'm a little tempted! wha! hahaha!!!

Skin Food's Aloe Vera Cream Cleanser is meant to just wash the face... won't remove any make-up. It is creamy (obviously). No foaming. After washing, can feel that the face is slightly filmy. I don't think many people like the filmy feeling as some will feel that the face isn't properly cleansed. But at least there's no tightening feeling for me. It doesn't irritate my skin. No breakouts. But my nose is a little shiny after a few hours. I believe this will suit people with dry skin types best since it's not drying on the skin.
(Description: A fresh clean cleanser with Aloe Extracts to soothe and hydrate the skin. Keeps the skin soft, calm, and deeply cleansed.)

Gonna try Holika Holika egg cleanser soon!! Stay tune for more reviews! Au revoir!
